1 .  Introduction :

3-flighted screw element can give raw material a higher average shear rate and shear force under the same screw rotation speed , because of the shallow screw groove , thin material layer , three head is better than two head in heat transfer , and is good for raw material plasticizing , melting . But because of strong shear force , 3-flighted screw element is generally not suggested to shear sensitive material , such as glass fiber , PVC , etc .
